What if managing a domain name was much
easier? One of the top items on our clients' wish list
is that they don't have to manage their own domain name. Having
a two accounts, one with a domain registrar and one with your hosting
company is silly and much more complex than it needs to be.
Enter Personal Domain Manager.
A real "human being" who manages your domain name for
you at no additional charge. We never dreamed of using the term
"human being" as a marketing advantage, but in this day
and age, humans seem to be a rare breed.
For years many clients have used a seperate domain
registration company for their domain names. And that's perfectly
fine. But this prevents us from helping our valued clients manage
their domain names. That ends today! We're now
able to provide one place for your domain name registration
and hosting. No more forgetting your passwords, no hassles
in changing your DNS or updating your contact information, along
with hosting we can take care of the management of your domain as
well.
How? Simple. Allow us to transfer your domain
name to our new domain registrar and we'll take care of the rest.
Of course the domain name always remains yours to take with you
if you ever wish to switch services. No more worries about domain
renewals as long as your account is hosted by us, we automatically
renew your domain. You're already used to our hands-on 24/7 support
and services for the hosting of your web site. Now you can get that
for your domain name as well.
Most importantly: Your domain name remains YOURS.
We help manage the domain, but it is always your domain and you
can move it to any hosting company you wish. Although, if you move
it, you lose the benefit of this valuable service.

If you've registered your
domain name at another registrar and want to get the service you
deserve from a Personal Domain Manager including automatic renewals,
not having to deal with multiple companies, Domain Name Service
changes or make any future contact changes yourself. Just follow
the following two easy steps:
- Provide us with the user name and password
for your account with your current domain registrar. We'll take
care of everything from here.
OR
- Make sure the domain contact info is up to
date, unlock the domain name and request that we transfer it to
our registrar. We'll then guide you through the process.
If you choose to have us guide you through the
process of transferring your domain, the following are the steps
our Personal Domain Manager will help you with:
- You've registered your domain name at another
registrar and want to transfer the domain.
- Unlock the domain: Log into your domain registrar's
account and make sure the domain you wish to transfer is unlocked.
Different registrars call this different things, but basically
if the domain is not unlocked it cannot be transferred.
- Confirm the Registrant and Administration
Contacts: This contact information must up to date and accurate
because the receiving registrar will use this information to contact
you via the email addresses provided in these contacts. The receiving
registrar can ONLY use these email addresses and none other. This
contact information is the only way you can control the domain.
- Authorization Code: If your domain is not
a .com or .net, the current registrar must provide a special code
called an Authorization Code to you and you have to provide this
code to the receiving registrar so that the domain name can be
transferred.
- Now that the above items are complete, you
are now ready to request that the receiving registrar begin the
transfer process. This begins with you providing them with your
credit card.
- The receiving registrar sends an email to
the Administrative contact with a link to a special web page where
the Admin contact can approve the transfer.
- Receiving registrar begins the process of
transferring the domain by requesting the transfer from the current
registrar.
- Admin contact may be requested to confirm
with the current registrar that they wish to allow the transfer
to take place.
- Current registrar releases the domain to the
receiving registrar.
- Receiving registrar sends a confirmation email
to let the owner know of the successful transfer.
- Now you are given control of your domain name
at the new registrar.
- You can now change the DNS settings, lock
the domain, set it to auto-renew, and update any contact information.
